~ !!! UPDATE !!! ~

(here is the transcript of an email I just got from Chris in E.Wenatchee, having to do with the unfolding saga of his brother and his 24 foot sailboat)

Steve, Just got a call from Puget Sound... This is a picture of my brother heading for Port Townsend (from Olympia)in the previously snow covered sailboat. (see pic below)

This pic is from the Seattle PI and was taken yesterday afternoon. Here's a link to the on-line version of the PI. The article is in Section A, Page 8

Gale force winds on a day that was forecast to be rather mild. He's hoping to get as far as Kingston today

Yes....I have been humbled also by such an experience.

What is interesting about that picture to me, is the fact that the seas are very short and steep. The wind came up FAST, to produce those kinds of waves. No doubt, that little 24 footer took it with ease, but the captain, might have been a little.....concerned....as we say at sea when the shit is hitting the fan.

Mic... absolutely! When he left yesterday morning the water was calm. Notice he is still flying his bimity??? thingy over the cockpit.

He just called from Edmonds and is going to wait out an unfavorable tide. Stay tuned!
