~ And Then There Was Base ~

...the stock I used was a wacked-out batch of walnut moulding that I had laying around my shop...
...7/8" x 1 &1/4", with tongue (no groove)...
...ripped off tongue at two degree bevel, becoming the bottom, then ripped the depth down to 5/8", then routed the top with a 1/2" radius, stained the sticks with natural redwood, and shot the little bastards on with 2" 18 gauge finish nails...

...whadayathinkamenow?

...hearth will get a different treatment...perhaps rope?!?!...

Looks great, stubby little thing fits right in with the window trim, but when are you going to get rid of the pink counter top?
