...here's how the deal went down:... this past Thursday Donna, my tennant in Unit B (seen on right) went into Courtland, to the library, and ran across two European travelers, who needed a place to stay...
...so she called me and explained the situation and asked me if it would be alright if the two travelers (a "Frenchman and an Italian") pitched a tent on my property, that they would be heading out at 6:00 am the next morning... "Sure," I said...
...so they pithced a tent under my Royal Anne cherry tree...
...the two guys, I come to find, had met in New Zealand and both aspired to travel California via bicycle. The tall fellah, a Frenchman/Dane, spoke no english at all, and his name was...(I never really caught it but it translated into John, which is cool onnacounta that is one of my son's names). The shorter guy was from Italy, somewhere in Tuscany (which is cool because that is where my family is from.) I'm sorry but I cannot remember his name. He spoke a little broken english.
Anyhoo, they had worked their way up the length of California from San Diego, on their way to San Francisco, but the Italian guy hurt himsef somehow, and needed to rest. They stayed that night and then the next night. The next day, while I was out of town, Donna took the Italian to the emergency room, where he wound up staying overnight due to dehydration and muscle collapse. So the Frenchman stayed that night alone in his tent. I offered to let them stay over the next night, and when I came home Monday morning they had packed up and continued on their journey to San Francisco...Buon viaggio, fellahs!

The Italian could stay but I'm still pissed at the French. Although they do make nice airplanes and dive stuff. Okay the French guy could stay too. I feel all warm now.
Brings back lots of memories of travels gone by and kind gestures from strangers.
I bet the Frenchman could speak a little English, he just wouldn't.
It was very nice of you to make room at the inn for them. Cheers P-Man!!
Your good deed will come back to you ten-fold...and I agree with Mickey..the guy could speak English, he was just French about it
See! THIS is EXACTLY why you're President of The Neat Guy Club!
