~ Thirteen Moons ~

The Astoot Bloglodite may recognize the following poem.

It was written three years and four months ago as I stood by my outdoor fireplace and witnessed the last total eclipse of the moon.

I wrote it by the light of the fire and the moon.

At that time I had been living at the Shack for thirteen months;
I had come down from Washington to stay here for only six, to see if I was truly ready to return to the land of my youth, and live out the rest of my days.

Thirteen Moons

Thirteen moons my eyes have seen
In the land of the golden sun,
Thirteen billion stars ago
I’m back where I’d begun;

Thirteen tugs upon the sea
As strong as Neptune’s will,
Thirteen revolutions of
The great celestial mill;

Thirteen journeys of the soul,
And sojourns of the heart,
Thirteen travels to the end
And likewise from the start;

Thirteen tickings of the clock,
And strikes upon the bell,
Thiteen gazes to the sky
And wishes in the well,
Thirteen cosmic listens to
The ocean in the shell:

Thirteen moons to guide my way
And only Time will tell,
Thirteen moons to guide my way,

…And only Time will tell…

Is the floor open for a question and maybe a follow up?

Is this where you will live out your days and why the change from 6 months? Was your youth a happy time?

I see the appeal but I have no emotional baggage.

Mic: I so very much want to be deep, like you.

wReggie: My childhood was spectacular. I think I knew all along that I was going to stay here...the six-month thing was just a ruse. I am here for the long haul barring any unforseen circumstances.

Reefer Gopher: Don't bogart that joint, my friend...

I got up (well, more like I was awake so I dragged my ass outta bed) at 12:35, went out to the street, looked up, and only saw clouds. I don't have the luxury of hanging around and waiting for the clouds to part, so I went back to bed.

eh; what'ryagonnado? I don't cry over missed eclipses. ha Ha HA!!!

Most excellent Mr. Bohnstedt...

Some of the walnuts will be traveling to Florida so mom and dad can relish in their delicious delight...and the music will be a part of our drive tomorrow

Merry Christmas Sir
