~ Squirrels: Un-friended ~

Ground squirrels are harshing my mellow.

They are living under my house in two seperate places.

Upon learning how to get rid of these pesky critters I have done the following: Installed one-way trap doors over the holes (they can get out easily, but are too stupid to dig back under the mesh), and have sprinkled flour around the holes to easily discern their activity.

After I have determined that they have exited the holes, I will fill them (the holes) with concrete, as I did the right-hand hole in the above pic, and hopefully be done with them, until I can shoot them in the open with my grandfather's trusty .22 scatter shot rifle, as I did one today (#2).

Sorry, squirrels.

This is better than CNN war footage.

Several things....sounds like you have developed a very good multilevel strategy of attack and occupation. Don't forget old school flanking.

It would be wise to put a century on the storage silo where you keep the black walnuts.

I can send bullets if you run low of shot.

Carry on.

I say when you do something you do it well Sir. Looks like you've got a good plan. I believe Mics Brother is in the rid folks of varmints business? If I remember correctly. You seem to have it well in hand. You can also blast those suckers with loud head banging music at the holes entrance making the living quarters unpleasant. Nice post BlogPHFather.

Any updates from the front? We get so little Delta news around here.

Aren't you afraid that the Squirrel Division of PETA won't come down your driveway to get you?

Anon: It is neither illegal nor un-ethical to rid your home of trespassing, valdalizing, disease-ridden intruders. They don't have to get shot. Stay away and you won't get shot. It's that simple.

wReg: Too early for updates. Can I have my coffee first? Sheesh!...

Oh and another thing, I am suprised to learn they live under your house and are burrowers. I thought they all lived in trees. I have been schooled :)
