I see that you failed to mention that today, in 1718, Edward Teach (Black Beard), died. Contrary to popular belief, there is no record of Black Beard ever killing or maiming any of his prisoners, rather he used his fearsome apperance to "convince" his prisoners to either join him or at least give him what he wanted.
