Sounds like a good reason not to have a plastic spatula... They are no good for luggin' eggs around the kitchen!
try one of them big spoon things with the holes in them. the eggies tend not to slide off of them, yet they still drain onto your kitchen floor where the dog can lick it up, thereby, making his coat shiny.
