...I am going outside RIGHT NOW and putting my James Brown tape in the tape deck and hopping up on the door slab and gonna start dancing like a...like a Sex Machine!!
I think if you were to nail the base of one of those columns to the floor, I could grab the top and twist till it failed, even if the top had a triangle.

Cross bracing is in one direction...uh oh!
That's the first thing that I noticed! And I don't know nuttin 'bout building stuff
Am I to assume by these comments that I am being called to task on my diagonal bracing techniques?
Seriously?
Better y'all go on back to studyin' skool and learn a thing or two.
Yes I am! You'd never get me to stand on one of them, ever.
Twister: That's because you have no understanding of the power of the triangle.
Oh, I get it! you must think that each of the sides reqire "X" bracing...
Pure overkill.
C'mon over and wiggle my column! Ha!

Must I go on?
They don't each need a cross but you DO have to brace both directions of twist if weight is a force.

One diagonal brace , locked, makes two triangles.
Positive sheer bracing is then achieved.
Have you ever built a house?
And if you will notice, the opposing sides of my columns are braced oposite of each other.
sheesh!
You left out the twist factor of a force coming straight down.
Go ahead, put one column on its own with some ply on top, get up on that sucker and do a twist of your body to the left...and stop. NO DON'T PLEASE!
I know about triangles.

Video forthcoming.
Hopefully.
I most certainly DO disagree, because, as I pointed out, the opposing sides of the column are braced diagonally AGAINST each other.
No twisting can occur.
Wait a minute. One column only.

Do you agree?
Did you delete my comment?
No sir. ...but the one I just posted is not there.
