~ A Phfish Story ~

Here's how the deal went down (backstory):
For years I have had to deal with fishermen parking on the levee in front of my house and trashing my property. Then I put up signs and started calling the cops. It worked. For a couple of years now I have had no problems.

(Current story): last weekend I noticed a truck parked up on the levee near my mailbox. I went up to investigate, planning on telling someone that this was private property and that there was no parking here. Two people came up from the river side of the levee just as I got to the top, and immediately apologized for where they were parked; they had a buddy out on the river in a boat right there fishing for sturgeon, and wanted to talk to him. I acknowledged them and told them that this was private property and that there was no parking allowed. They seemed like an nice couple of fellows so I told them that if they wanted to park down the road, they could fish from the spot on my property.

Oh...they were happy!

They shook my hand and told me that if they caught a sturgeon, they would share it with me.

I thought nothing of it.

Fast foreward to today, when Phfrit and I got home from The Grid and Autumn comes over and presents me with this 8-10 pound chunk of sturgeon that those two guys brought here for me while we were gone..

Very nice. Some folks do keep their word and are decent humans.

Yum. Nice hunk of fish.
I'd think that you should be fishing for sturgeon yourself if that's the kind of food that casually swims by your front door.

It's the right thing.

In faaaaaact... you could use that bare necked acre of y'rn to CHARGE fisherman to park there if they want to fish on your private property.

hey, income is income - and the easier it is to get it, the better.

You tell 'em (starting with those two guys) that you WILL be taking license plat numbers and if there is ANY garbage when they leave, they will be banned from returning and reported to the authorities.
Oh, and btw, that'll be ten bucks, or 4 fish. ; )

I've always thought a PARKING LOT is the easiest money there is to be made.

Dice I think has got a good idea there but then I'd not want to open that door but that's me. I still think it's a good idea.
