Here we see my first commision of a bench.
The lady who ordered it had a dilapidated bench that needed replacing, and she wanted to incorporate the two blue pieces seen from the old bench into the new bench.
The new bench is to be painted blue by the owner.

I've changed things up a bit from my prototype. As you can see I have wrapped the back of the arms around the styles, and through-doweled them. Also, the styles themselves are now 3/8" wider so that the rails are now inset.
The whole thing is now doweled and glued together as well as screwed in the critical strength areas. All screwes (52 of 'em) are bunged and sanded flush.

Well done Sir...I like that
No wonder, other than the fact the bench rocked, she jumped at the price.
Very nice Bro and I like very much the incorporation of her old bench pieces.
Has she seen it yet? Did she LOVE it?
Is that Pine?
my awesome woodworker!!! :]
You shouldn't say woodworker on the Internets.
Just in case you haven't thought of this your ownself, and know that I would probably do it for you if I were there, what I would do is:
beginning with your plain, original one on the patio, add THIS PIECE, and
Put the pictures in a binder - your professional portfolio if you will so that all any of Phfrit's future clients will have to do is thumb through it while they are getting their hair done in order to see all the wonderful things you are capable of doing with a chair or a bench, and a suggestion ♥
Douglas Firbanks, Looooie.
I want a Deadwood Rocker...no...NO...WAIT! I wanna Deadwood GLIDER! I loves me some glide-time. And, how 'bout a foot stool? End tables? Umbrella drinks! The possibilities are endless!
I like where you've taken your talent to.
I want a custom glider that will unfold into the cockpit, next to the cooler.
Oh my goodness why dear lord would someone paint over your amazing bench? Seal it yes! Paint it? Never. Are you sure that $300.00 is enough for a hand made ,made in America by the artist bench?
Ha ha ha ha tanks fer da answer Bro'
