Saturday was to be a very warm day here in the Delta. In fact, it was to be the warmest day of the year so far, unseasonably warm...well over 100 degrees.
This happened.
At 12:30 in the afternoon on this day I, along with Autumn, traveled four and one half hours down the Central Valley to Bakersfield, to the Kern County Raceway, where her husband Swanny was announcing the NASCAR races there.
In Bakersfield on Saturday it was 108 degrees. Even hotter on the track.
Saturday night, after the races, I headed North on I-5 towards home. I made it as far as Santa Nella where I slept in the back of my van for four and one half hours. I got home at 7:30 Sunday morning.
The point of this story is to report on the temperature at the Shack when I got home. Whereas when I left 19 hours previously with a temperature near 100 with no wind, when I got home it was a 15 to 20 mph wind out of the South West and it was 65 degrees. It never got above 68 degrees on Sunday.
The 24 hr temperature drop for Sacramento was 34 degrees!

And as soon as you cough up the fifty bucks of which your Friendship Payment is in arrears, I will mail it to wReggie.
Or you can mail it directly to him.
But I will still need a receipt.
For tax purposes, you understand.
