~ A Stump Saga ~

So I gotta take some stumps out onnacounta the last guy that was here took out 24 stumps but that was before I mucked out the ranch rilly good and so then I had 41 more stumps and protruding roots to remove but I didn't want to call that guy again onnacounta he charged me 400 dollars for the 24 stumps and worked for two hours so I decided to rent a stump grinder for 145 dollars a day and take out the stumps and protruding roots myself so I reserve the thing on Friday for the following Monday and I go the thirty minutes to West Sacramento at 7 o'clock in the morning only to find out that a) I don't have the required 2" ball for the trailer and, b) they don't rent them out anymore but they sell them but no, they are out, so I leave and hunt down a hardware/rental place that is open at 7:15 in the morning in West Sac and I find a 2" ball for ten dollars, which is good, and I go back and we hitch up the trailer and start to load the stump grinder and I look down and find that the teeth on the grinder wheel feel like kitten paws (round and smooth) so I tell them that I want one with sharp teeth and they tell me that Tuesday afternoon would be the soonest so we schedule for Wednesday morning and so I go back the thirty minute drive at 7 o'clock in the morning on Wednesday and I get the grinder with the sharp teeth and I come back to the ranch and begin grinding the 41 stumps and protruding roots and after two hours the thing won't work so I call the place and they send out a mechanic an hour and a half later who finds a piece of wood stuck in the teeth and then the grinder works so I grind the remaining stumps and protruding roots and it is hot now onnacounta it is the afternoon and it is sunny and I finish around 2:30 and drive the thirty minutes back to West Sac and they ding me for $8.95 for a gallon of gas that I used that wasn't even a gallon and if I woulda known how the deal worked I woulda filled the tank at my gas station before I brought it back and I don't have a picture of the grinder onnacounta Blogger sucks.
