~ And Now You Know... ~

...the rest of the story:

Wednesday afternoon found me at the top of the levee taking pictures of a barge that was attempting to raise the sunken boat near my pilings.

At 4:00 I went back to the house having been informed that the intention was to free the boat from the silt and rocks, float it to the surface with inflatables, stay the night moored, then move the boat upriver in the morning.

At 6:00 that enening I went back up to monitor the progress and the barge was gone...and the sunken boat was still there.

WTF??

Thursday goes by...no barge, no nothin'. Friday goes by...no action.

WTF??

Friday evening I get a call from the barge owner (I had given him my number on Wednesday) and he informs me that they had "pretty much" freed the boat on Wednesday, wore out the diver, and were coming back Tuesday morning at 8:00 to raise the boat and take it away.

Time will tell...

Video longer than 25 seconds is requested by this faithful blog follower.

Did you get that....LONGER than 25 seconds!

Try a couple of minutes maybe three, think you can do that? Not too long, you know 4 minutes is stretching it.

It can be difficult to raise a vessel. I have some dive buddies that do this at a nearby lake (seem a boat or barge is always sinking) and it takes many tries to get it right.
