"..and in the end, the love you take is equal to the love you make."

Those are the final words of the song "The End", the last song on the album Abbey Road..the last song The Beatles recorded together. It was September of 1969.

I have been pondering these words of late.

I'm pretty sure they are the most poignant, relevant, meaningful words ever spoken.

The words are not new. It is an age-old theme: You reap what you sow. You get what you give. What goes around, comes around. The idea is not new; Paul McCartney did not make it up. But he said it, in his way, and I have been singing it in my head for some time now.

I think that perhaps (like that word, Mic?) those words are the the secret to what it is all about.

You know...the Secret of Life.

What the hell do I know? I'm just a guy, trying to get by. But if anyone were to ask me what I thought it was All About, I think I would quote Mr. McCartney.

The End.

This is deep.

If not for that little snark aimed at me, perhaps it's as deep as the prop, at the end of the shaft beneath the hull of the boat at your non-dock along the Sacramento River.
