~ Then And Now ~

...Flash back with me to late 1976 or early 1977:

...I was living at a little place called Clark Street in Mountain View...a stones throw from Gemello's Winery...there was Paul, MaryEllen, Rick and I...then the baby Jessica...we listened to alot of good music back then, not the least of which was the album Hejira by Joni Mitchell...listened to that one alot...on the turntable, of couse...I have long since lost the album and never did buy the tape or the disc...yesterday I wanted to hear it real bad, onnacounta it has been 35 years or so, and I am a sentimental sorta fellah...

Fastforeward to the future (now)...I swooped on over to Amazon.com and shopped their mp3 downloads and sure enough there it was: Hejira, the entire album, for $7.95....click click...ten minutes later the magical mystical invisible music thingies downloaded to my computer and I was listening to it.

All I did was click my keyboard!!

Thanks, Al Gore, for inventing the Internets!!

I think your date is slightly off. I moved in to Tamalpias in 1976 after graduation. I took over Di's room.

Never could really enjoy her music. Must be a Boston thing.

Lu: Admittedly my memory is a tad foggy, but I did the research and the album was released in November of '76. I have no recollection of hearing it at Tamalpias.

YouTube is the greatest website residing on the greatest invention of all time. Also, I'm impressed that you went to Amazon and paid for the CD rather than download it illegally. Good man.

What I am impressed with is you BOUGHT THE WHOLE ALBUM!

Not a song here and there. Albums were made to be a whole piece of work, not sliced and diced.
