(they were much bigger at the fair)...went to the Pear Fair in Courtland on Sunday...bought three grilled oysters for $7.oo at the Mexican food booth...slathered, they were, with a butter and garlic melange as they sat on the grill, licked by the orange and black flames....they were handed to me on a paper plate which I then comlimented with some lime slices. I chose a home-made salsa from the extensive salsa bar and put a few drops on each oyster....then I squeezed some fresh lime juice on them....then...then...
...I sucked them down...one by each-ee, as I stradled a bale of hay in the mid-summer sun, live music filling the air,
and counted my blessings...

They do look good but do charge a premium for those mollusks. Here in season I pay $18 for a 1/2 bushel. But I got to get them, build a fire, make the sauce, hire the band, pick the perfect day, be in Courtland....okay I get it.
It was lovely wasn't it? the weather perfect, the oysters big and juicy and the great music! Enjoyed myself thoroughly!
...for truly you had blessings to count; as did I.
